About Solace Seat
A place to sit, reflect, and begin again.
At Solace Seat, we believe that healing begins the moment you're truly seen, heard, and supported. Our practice was born from the deep desire to offer a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Olivia S. Miller, LISW-CP
My therapy journey was a long, winding road, and I’m finally home. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the medical field as a nursing assistant, a dental assistant, and even in an eye doctor’s office. No matter the role, one thing remained constant: my heart for helping people.
But I always felt called to care deeply for the parts of people that can’t be seen on a scan or measured in a chart. I wanted to support others on their emotional and mental health journeys, just as I was navigating my own. That calling led me to pursue my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama, and later to become a Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) in South Carolina.
Social work quickly became more than a profession: it became part of who I am. My early years were spent in medical settings, offering support and resources wherever I could. Many of my clients jokingly referred to me as their “resource broker.” If it could help, I was already on it.
But the true heart of my work began to unfold in hospice. I coordinated a nonprofit bereavement program for a hospice agency, walking alongside individuals and families through profound grief and trauma. It was here that I began to find my voice as a therapist. And it was here that I recognized I needed more tools—more ways to help people truly heal.
So I pursued advanced training in evidence-based approaches for trauma and PTSD. These tools not only transformed my work, they also changed me. As a therapist who has sat (and continues to sit) on the other side of the room, I deeply understand what it means to be vulnerable, to seek help, and to hold brave space for healing.
That’s what Solace Seat is built on: the belief that everyone deserves a space to sit down, be seen, and begin to heal.

Why "Solace Seat"?
Choosing a name was a journey of its own. I knew I wanted it to reflect the feeling of therapy: the quiet, sacred moment when someone feels safe enough to simply sit, be still, and be real.
To me, solace means a deep breath. A wooded path. A warm cabin. A moment of ease in the midst of life’s noise. And what do we do in therapy? We sit. We reflect. We connect.
The Solace Seat is more than a name. It’s an invitation.
To take a pause.
To be met with warmth and compassion.
To partner together (your lived experience, my clinical tools) toward the life you long for.
This is your seat. Your time. Your space to find peace, healing, and hope.
